Start Together is an interactive routine designed for specialist and inclusive classrooms. It supports communication, emotional regulation, movement, body awareness and readiness to learn through a flexible, pupil-centred approach.

Movement with Zoo Zen
Zoo Zen is a movement-based self-regulation programme using short, animal-inspired activities to support regulation, focus, body awareness and readiness to learn.
Within Start Together, staff can choose from different Zoo Zen animal activities and adapt the movement to suit individual pupils, physical needs and the needs of the group.
Flexible by design.
Start Together is not a fixed programme that has to be completed in full. Staff choose the sections that best support their pupils that morning and can pause, repeat, skip or adapt activities as needed. The routine supports the class rather than controlling the class.
